Oblates of Christ the Redeemer
An apostolate of prayer that gathers young people and adults willing to offer themselves generously to God. We pray daily for the holiness of priests and for priestly vocations, we spread devotion to Divine Mercy, and we seek to evangelize in the midst of the world.
An Oblate of Christ the Redeemer is anyone who offers himself generously to God, to cooperate in the Work of Redemption.
More than an invitation, it is a call to live the path of oblation — to offer one's own life for the sanctification of the world, as Saint Paul teaches:
I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Anyone who believes in the communion of saints and in the power of prayer, and who desires to be united to us through the Oblation for Priests, takes part in this apostolate.

Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
An apostolate born at the foot of the Cross
God raised up this work long before. Over more than a year of prayer and discernment, the call matured and took shape — until, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, on September 14, 2024, the apostolate was publicly presented. A week later, on September 21, it received the blessing of Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, O.Cist., Archbishop of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro. Every oblation finds in the Cross of Christ its source and its fruitfulness.
We adore You, O Lord Jesus Christ, and we bless You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.

Deacon Mario Fernando Teixeira Cardoso
A member of the clergy of the Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, Deacon Mario Cardoso is responsible for the spiritual direction of the Apostolate Oblates of Christ the Redeemer.
Soon after his ordination he was assigned to the Parish of São Pedro do Mar, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he currently exercises the diaconal ministry.

Priests face spiritual and human challenges that can weaken their mission. The Church needs holy priests — and that also depends on our prayers.

Jesus institui o sacerdócio, derivado do dele e destinado a perpetuar, até a consumação dos séculos, seu gesto de poder e misericórdia.
Todo o Povo de Deus deve incansavelmente rezar e trabalhar pelas vocações sacerdotais.
O sacerdote é um outro Cristo e, como seu divino Mestre, deve ser uma hóstia imolada para a glória de Deus e consagrada à salvação das almas.
Prayer to the Divine Redeemer
for Priestly Vocations
It may be offered during the Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Liturgy of the Hours, or at any moment of prayer.
Divine Redeemer, with great confidence I ask You, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, and of the Glorious Saint Joseph, to grant to the Church of today and of tomorrow the gift of numerous and holy priestly vocations, that Your mercy may accompany everywhere, protect, and sanctify all those who have been ordained priests.
