The priest is another Christ and, like his divine Master, must be a sacrificial host for the glory of God and consecrated to the salvation of souls.
Priests face spiritual and human challenges that can weaken their mission. The Church needs holy priests, and that also depends on our prayers!
Through prayer, we will protect priests so they do not lose their priestly dignity and do not become unbelievers in living their ministry.
"The servant is not greater than his master." "If they persecuted me," Jesus warned, "they will also persecute you" (John 15, 18-21).
Be part of this spiritual movement with simple and powerful actions:
"Oblate of Christ the Redeemer is anyone who generously offers themselves to God, to cooperate in the Work of Redemption."
Lu Monferrato
In the small town of Lu Monferrato, Italy, mothers said a simple yet powerful prayer for their children:
Lord, make one of my children a priest! I myself want to live as a good Christian and want to lead my children to good so that I can obtain the grace to offer You, Lord, a holy priest. Amen.
The result? Over 323 vocations to consecrated life came from this prayer!
Could this story be repeated in your family?
Prayer of Offering One of the Rosary Mysteries
Divine Redeemer, with great confidence, I ask You, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, and the Glorious Saint Joseph, to grant the Church of today and tomorrow the gift of numerous and holy priestly vocations. May Your mercy accompany everywhere, protect, and sanctify all who have been ordained priests. Amen.
"The entire People of God must tirelessly pray and work for priestly vocations" (Saint John Paul II, Pastores Dabo Vobis, 82).
Day of Adoration and Intercession for Priests
The Church dedicates Thursdays to the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament because it was on this day that Jesus instituted the Eucharist and the priesthood.
"Jesus institutes the priesthood, derived from His and destined to perpetuate, until the end of the ages, His act of power and mercy."
Pray, adore, intercede.
The world needs holy priests!
Join the Divine Mercy Meeting that takes place every first Sunday of the month at 3:00 p.m. at the São Pedro do Mar Parish - Recreio dos Bandeirantes, RJ - Brasil.
At the Hour of Great Mercy for the world, we adore the Blessed Sacrament and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to obtain graces through the sorrowful passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for priests and for the whole world.
